Posters campaign
In Victoria it is illegal to put posters up on walls and lamp posts, which means musicians have little opportunity to advertise their gigs this way, and risk being fined if they do.
The music sector has been asking for legal opportunities for musicians to put up their posters in these sorts of places, as it is cheap and effective promotion.
Yarra Council may be the first to address this, as they are considering installing bollards for the purpose, according to this article in the Melbourne Times: Yarra parking restriction waiver music to venues' ears.
